An Unusual Story of a Transgender Man Who Discovered He Was Pregnant and Decided To Give Birth to a Child

The Unusual Journey of a Transgender Man Who Chose to Give Birth

Logan Brown, a transgender man, made headlines when Glamour UK featured him as a pregnant male on their cover. Despite facing controversy, Logan and his partner, Bailey Mills, are now proud parents, raising their daughter together. His journey through pregnancy, from self-doubt to pride, has been filled with challenges, but also moments of joy.

Battling Gender Dysphoria

Logan struggled with gender dysphoria from a young age. He recalls wearing boys’ clothes to hide his body, only to feel ashamed and confused. “It was really tough to go through that all the time and not talk to anyone about it,” he says. As a teenager, Logan came out as a lesbian, but he eventually realized that his discomfort stemmed from his gender identity, not his sexuality. It took years of therapy and self-reflection for him to understand he was transgender.

After transitioning and building a new sense of identity, Logan focused on his own well-being, leaving behind several relationships with women to prioritize his mental health.

Meeting His Partner

Logan’s partner, Bailey Mills, is a non-binary drag queen from London. The two met online a few years ago when Logan stumbled upon one of Bailey’s videos. “I thought, ‘Who is that?’” Logan recalls. Drawn to Bailey’s vulnerability, they connected and soon became inseparable. Their relationship has been a whirlwind, full of love and mutual support.

Discovering the Pregnancy

One morning, Logan took a pregnancy test after feeling unwell for some time. To his surprise, it was positive. Logan had stopped taking testosterone due to health concerns, which led to the unexpected pregnancy. Initially, he was terrified and felt that his masculinity had been stripped away. After processing the shock with Bailey, they realized this was a unique opportunity for them to have a biological child.

“I had to get to a point where I was confident in myself as a pregnant man,” Logan explains. “It was a really bizarre feeling, but I realized I didn’t want to let go of this experience. This baby is biologically ours, and that’s something special.”

Facing Challenges in the Hospital

Throughout his pregnancy, Logan faced difficulties navigating healthcare as a transgender man. Although early appointments with a small clinic were positive, things changed when they moved and switched hospitals. At the larger facility, Logan was misgendered by staff and felt ignored at times. He believes hospitals should provide better training for staff on LGBTQ+ issues, as transgender people, like him, face unique challenges in medical settings.

“I’m a pregnant trans man, and I exist,” Logan emphasizes. “Healthcare workers need to be aware of people like me.”

Becoming a Father

After a complicated labor that lasted several days, Logan gave birth to a baby girl. The process wasn’t easy, as Logan and Bailey both developed infections due to prolonged labor, but the hospital staff supported them through the difficult moments.

“I look at her and think, ‘Wow, you’re truly precious,’” Logan says of his daughter. Despite all the challenges, Logan is filled with pride. “We’re really blessed, and this is a huge achievement for us.”
